Everyone wants to tell you that you need to use Google Business Profiles (formerly Google My Business) effectively, but they don’t really offer any successful examples to follow. For many, the best way to learn is by example. Someone can tell you all the steps and tips to make the perfect Google profile and you could still miss a key element. Having a well-designed example to refer to can make it a lot easier.
Architecture and design firms need to have Google Business Profiles that reflect their professionalism and expertise. The profile needs to be complete and optimized, and you need to check it and update it often so that it remains fresh and accurate. You’ll also want to check and double-check the details like your phone number, business hours, and so forth—one simple typo could cost you leads, rankings, and so much more.
In this guide, we’ll look at five architecture and design profiles we found on Google that hit all the marks. We’ll also explain which features stand out and provide insights based on each one to help you in creating your Google Business Profile for your architecture or design firm.
This profile starts off with 77+ pictures of different projects they’ve done, and it leads with a review summary before displaying the business information. They have everything that people need, including a link to call them and links to all of their social profiles. They also have a great explanation of what their firm is about.
It appears their profile is updated regularly and they have a great review rating, too. Plus, their profile information is complete and it’s easy to see how capable they are with the array of photos. This is a great profile to reference when creating your own.
This is another profile that starts off with a lot of great photos to showcase what they’re capable of. They also choose high-quality images—that’s important. The profile information is complete, and they immediately offer a link to their website for appointments, making it easy to schedule.
PMPC Architects also explains what they do, and they speak of awards they’ve won, giving prospects immediate reassurance that they’re the best at what they do. They also link to their Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages, making it easy for both customers and colleagues to connect.
This listing comes with more than 1,000 photos, a complete profile, and a link to schedule appointments online. Although they’re not the first ones to come up in the Maryland area when you search for architects, their profile far outweighs the three or four listings ahead of them. They also showcase their products and services and connect people to their YouTube, LinkedIn, and other social profiles.
It's complete, it’s comprehensive, and it’s focused on informing people so that the only thing left to do is make an appointment or give them a call. They also showcase awards they’ve won right on their Google Business Profile so people know they’re working with the best before they even get started.
This profile is well-organized and complete, and it includes a lot of great photos of the work that the company has done in the past. They have information on their online appointments and business hours, and provide people with a link to the website, as well. There are some links to social profiles and information about what the studio offers in their own words.
This profile is exactly what it should be: a complete listing that encourages people to reach out and inquire about services. It is simple but effective, and it helps that the first three listings in the “web results” section are for their own website, their Facebook, and then their LinkedIn page.
Last, but certainly not least, we have StudioMET Architects, based out of Houston, Texas. This profile not only has stunning photos that pop up as soon as you click on the link, but it has reviews listed above the contact information, so the first thing people see is praise. It’s a great way to show people they’re in the right place and a simple scroll will reveal the contact information they seek.
There are links to their social profiles and it’s obvious that they update the profile regularly, including the business hours and photos. It’s a simple profile, but it’s effective in several ways, which is why it makes the list.
Google Business Profile listings aren’t something that you have to pay for. All you have to do is claim yours and complete it. There are a lot of tips and tricks online to help with that, including Google’s own help guide for successfully completing your GBP. What all the profiles above have in common is that they use this profile not just as a listing, but as a spotlight for their firm.
If you can take notes from these profiles, you’ll be well on your way to getting a top ranking on Google and improving your local SEO. You don’t have to have hundreds of photos, so long as you have the best ones to showcase your firm’s capabilities. And when it comes to information, the more you can offer, the better. Hot links to your website, social profiles, and appointment scheduling service will also serve you well.
